EASY TO MAKE VERMICELLI RECIPE

So, making this vermicelli is really simple. This is how my mother makes it and I have learnt from her how to cook it with a little variations. The photo might not appear very pleasing to eyes or tempting or drooling, but they taste very good! Also, for indian families, making this isn't a big deal, all the ingredients are available at home and the method of preparation is common with many dishes we make at home.

COOKING TIME: 20-25 minutes

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED:
  • Roasted vermicelli
  • Refined oil
  • Ajvain (carom seeds)
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Tomatoes
  • Peas
  • Any other veggies you want
  • Salt
  • Haldi (turmeric powder)
  • Laal mirch
  • Dhaniya powder (Coriander powder)
  • Kitchen king masala
  • Garam masala

I use roasted vermicelli of Bambino, it's recommended by me for its good quality.

PROCEDURE:

Firstly, chop all your veggies, Onions, potatoes, tomatoes any other veggies you want to put in it. And partially boil the peas in a container on stove.
Heat the kadhai.
Put some cooking oil in the kadhai and let it become hot
Put some ajvain (carom seeds) (approx 1/8th of a small spoon)
Then after it's done, put the chopped onions and let it cook
After a few minutes, put the spices, salt, turmeric powder, laal mirch, dhaniya powder, garam masala, kitchen king masala according to your taste.
Stir everything with a spoon.
Then put the veggies (potatoes, tomatoes, peas etc).
Cover it with a small plate and let them cook on a medium gas level.
To make the potatoes cook faster, you can put some water in the kadhai before covering them with the plate.
After a while, lift the lid, check whether the potaoes are partially cooked.
Now, its time to put the roasted vermicelli.
Put the vermicelli in the kadhai and mix it up with the veggies.
Add water till everything in the kadhai submerges under the water.
Then add a bit of salt and cover this all with a big plate.
Let it cook on a slighter higher gas level than medium one
Let it be on the gas for 10 minutes.
Then check it. If you see a lot of water then cover it again. And check again after few minutes
If there is only a bit of water then remove the plate, and let the water evaporate,
Once all the water evaporates, your vermicelli is ready to eat.
